Nigeria Declares State of Emergency in Three Northern States

NewsRescue- The president of Nigeria has announced an immediate state of emergency in three troubled northern states. The announcement was broadcast on National TV. Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states are now under marshal law, to protect life of citizens.
Yesterday, the president had an emergency meeting with national security men and army field commanders who were flown in to the capital from Borno state by private jet.
Boko Haram terror, and other civilian militia related terror has led to the loss of lives of hundreds of soldiers and police officers, and many more civilians in Nigeria in recent weeks.
Nigeria's governors, in a statement yesterday by the governors forum, had advised against such declaration. Emergency states are not beneficial to governors personal interests.
